CHRISTADELPHIAN  BELIEFS

Christadelphians aim to follow as closely as possible the teaching and example of Jesus, as recorded in the Bible. We endeavour to read the whole Bible at least once every year.  In a world full of uncertainties we enjoy a simple, direct and logical faith, offering peace and contentment now, and the promise of everlasting joy to come.

A brief summary of our beliefs is below.  Detailed information on these various beliefs is available here:

  • God

There is only one true God, the Creator of all things in heaven and on the earth.
God is eternal and immortal.
Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son.
The Holy Spirit is God's power.
See Isaiah 45v4, 1 Timothy 1v17, Ephesians 4v6, Luke 1v35, Acts 1v8, Luke 24v49

  • The Bible

The Bible is the inspired word of God and is His only revealed message to mankind.
The Bible describes God's plan with mankind & the earth, the kingdom of God & the way of salvation.
The Bible is our only authority and should be read prayerfully, with all care, and at every opportunity.
See Romans 16v26, John 17v17, Acts 17v11

  • Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Son of Mary.
Jesus lived a sinless life.
Jesus died to show the righteousness of God and to redeem those who receive this sacrifice by faith.
God raised Jesus from the dead.  Jesus ascended to heaven and became the Saviour of the world.
See Matthew 1v21, John 3v16

  • Man

Man is mortal and a sinner before God. The punishment for sin is death.
God requires man to believe the gospel, to be baptised and to continue to follow Jesus' example.
See Job 4v17, Romans 3v34, Jeremiah 17v9, Mark 7v21-23, Romans 6v23, Ecclesiastes 9v1-6, Psalm 146v4, Mark 16v15-16

  • Salvation

Because of His love for man, God sent Jesus Christ into the world to save men from their sins.
Jesus died to show the righteousness of God and to redeem those who receive this sacrifice by faith.
Through Christ our sins can be forgiven.
Those who believe will not perish, but have everlasting life.
See Matthew 1v21, John 3v16, Acts 2v23-36, Ephesians 1v19-23, 1 Timothy 2v5, Hebrews 4v14-16, Romans 3v21-26.

  • Return of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ will return to the earth soon.
Jesus will raise many of the dead, and, together with the living, gather them for judgement.
Faithful followers will be rewarded with everlasting life in the kingdom of God.
See Revelation 22v12, Luke 21v20-32, John 5v28-29, Daniel 12v2, 2 Timothy 4v1, Matthew 25v34

  • Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God will be established on earth with Jesus as king.
The capital will be Jerusalem and Jesus' dominion will be worldwide.
Jesus Christ's reign will bring worldwide peace, prosperity & security forever.
See Daniel 2v44 & 7v27, Acts 3v21, Jeremiah 3v17, Isaiah 2v2-4, Psalm 72, Daniel 7v14, Isaiah 9v6-9 & 11v1-9 & 61v1-11
